I love making websites.

Hi! I’m Lauri Kieksi, and I'm a visual designer, mainly working on usability, web service concepts, HTML & CSS, and web graphics. In my free time I'm a home theater nerd, music addict and a lover of spicy food. I'm also available for freelance work, so drop me an e-mail.

A few words about me

I've always tried to express myself visually, whether through drawings and paintings or 3D animation. At the same time, the Web has fascinated me for years – since I first started making simple web pages in elementary school. I'd at least like to think I've come a long way since then. I work as visual designer at Palmu Inc. in Helsinki.

Some of my work...

Laakkonen

Laakkonen2012–2013 / UX Design

Laakkonen is a chain of car dealerships founded in the 1960s and operating in 20 cities across Finland. The company represents 20 car brands and sells over 35 000 cars annually. In addition, over 250 000 cars are serviced every year in Laakkonen's service shops. I assisted in concept design for a more service-oriented website, and followed up with wireframes, detailed responsive design, and implementation support.

Helsinki Airport

Helsinki Airport2010 / Website Design

Helsinki Airport is Finland's largest airport and among the top international airports in Europe. The Helsinki Airport website is based on Crasman's Crasmanager CMS, and the site refresh launched in early December 2010 aimed to make airport shop weekly deals and social media features more discoverable. I was given just a few days to come up with a visual concept to win the client over. I chose huge dropdowns as a starting point in order to make things discoverable, since I knew the site would be visited by people with wildly varying use cases.
